ASQ Quality Progress Refuses to Publish Articles Critical of ISO 9001

Internal review documents reveal that the editors of Quality Progress, the journal of quality management published by ASQ, refuse to publish any article critical of ISO 9001, calling into further question whether ASQ has abandoned its mission to support the quality profession and instead is acting as the marketing arm for ISO’s publishing operations.

A source within a prominent North American certification body (CB) revealed to Oxebridge that it intentionally “spiked” the numbers of ISO 9001 certificates it issued in the US in 2013 by as much as 5,000, when reporting the data to ISO for its annual ISO Survey; the source indicated that another North American CB did likewise, to a lesser degree, but later corrected the figures for the 2014 data.
