More and more companies are using AI to generate their quality management system documentation. Unlike a lot of folks, we think that is great! The less you have to spend on your QMS implementation, the better it is for everyone. This could improve products around the world, leading to fewer product recalls, disasters, or injuries to the public.
But let’s face it: as of right now, the AI-generated content is not always accurate. A lot of it is slop. This is because AI models are built on pre-existing data that isn’t vetted and is simply pumped into the models in bulk. Procedures from hundreds of thousands of companies are fed in, mashed together, and then spit back out in some sort of Frankensteinian fashion, all while the AI tool insists it’s generating 100% compliant documentation.
Then, later, you get audited and find out you were handed slop that puts your QMS certification at risk.
(For similar stories, see all those cases where lawyers thought they could enter AI-generated motions and complaints in court, and risked getting debarred after finding out their citations were entirely fake.)
What’s the answer? It’s called “Human-in-the-Loop,” or HITL. This is where a real person reviews AI content to identify gaps, mistakes, errors, or inefficiencies. Oxebridge is happy to announce that it can now offer a full Human-in-the-Loop review of your AI content before you undergo any audits, to identify problems before they pose a risk to your certification.
The best part? A HITL review by Oxebridge is both fast and cheap! This is because it’s essentially a document review, requiring no travel or expenses, and can be done in hours to days (depending on the number of documents) It starts at only $1,000 and only goes up if you have a lot of documents. A typical machine shop, for example, is unlikely to need to exceed that amount.
Once done, you get a formal report — written by a human, not AI! — that identifies any problems in the documentation, such as:
- Incorrect interpretations of the standard (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.)
- Conflicts between documents
- Missing requirements
- Poor or overcomplicated interpretations or implementation
- Obvious AI slop
- Gaps, mistakes, errors
- Lack of world-class approaches
With the report in hand, you can then correct your documents to ensure they reflect your actual practices and preferences, and head into your next certification audit with confidence.
