Oxebridge has launched the first step in the development of the Management Maturity Model standards, or “M3” at the following URL:

The M3 Development project, formerly called “ALT 9001”, will attempt to use modern technology to crowdsource standards development, while creating a modular set of management system standards applicable to any industry and for any type of management scheme, from quality systems, to environmental to information security management. The structure of M3 is being proposed as containing universal “Trunk” practice requirements applicable to any organization, followed by a hierarchy of Branch Modules which are selected by the organization.

Furthermore, the planned M3 Model would allow for varying levels of maturity for each Branch Module, allowing companies to measure improvement over time.

The project is not intended to compete with existing standards such as ISO 9001, but instead as an experiment to see if a truly universal set of standards can be developed if participation is opened to a far greater scope of potential authors.
