Pinellas Park FL — Dental implant and prosthetic manufacturer Southern Cross Dental Laboratories has signed on with Oxebridge Quality Resources for a Rapid ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 Implementation for its Florida-based US company. Southern Cross also operates a similar operation in Australia, where the company is already certified.

President Dr. David Penn sees ISO certification as a means of improving the company’s products and services, while providing confidence to the world that Southern Cross operates in accordance with globally accepted standards and practices.

Along with the standard ISO 9001 quality management system requirements, Southern Cross’ Florida facilities will seek ISO 13485 certification for medical device manufacturing. Oxebridge has significant experience in both standards.

The implementation program is set to begin in March, with final readiness for dual certification audits to follow in a few months. Accredited registrar ISOQAR has been selected to perform the compliance certification audits.

Why we report on these topics

Since 2000, Oxebridge has worked to improve ISO and related certification schemes by identifying problems and then proposing solutions. We report on issues affecting standards users because so few other news outlets do. Our belief is that in order to fix the problems in these schemes, we must first understand the nature and breadth of those problems. Our reporting aims to do just that. Elsewhere on the Oxebridge site you will find White Papers and other articles proposing ideas to correct these problems.
