Per the IAQG OASIS database and the ANAB website, registrar SAI Global has had its AS9100 accreditation restored.

The certification body faced a months-long suspension of its accreditation due to a variety of issues, including lack of sufficient auditors with which to carry out audits. Initially, the official listings showed SAI had been suspended for all of its management system certification activities, but later this was updated to reflect only suspensions related to its aerospace offerings. Those final suspensions were lifted in April.

The suspension likely had no effect on SAI’s current clients, although reports still come into Oxebridge that clients are facing difficulty in scheduling audits with the registrar. The suspension prohibited SAI from taking on new clients, something they may now resume.

Why we report on these topics

Since 2000, Oxebridge has worked to improve ISO and related certification schemes by identifying problems and then proposing solutions. We report on issues affecting standards users because so few other news outlets do. Our belief is that in order to fix the problems in these schemes, we must first understand the nature and breadth of those problems. Our reporting aims to do just that. Elsewhere on the Oxebridge site you will find White Papers and other articles proposing ideas to correct these problems.
