Phoenix AZ — Precision machining company RaeTech, Inc. has contracted with Oxebridge Quality Resources for a Rapid AS9100 Implementation, set to start in August 2010. RaeTech is a manufacturer of high-precision components for the commercial, aerospace and medical industries. The company machines parts using stainless steel, aluminum, high-temperature alloys, and even plastics.

AS9100 is an international quality system standard for aerospace manufacturers and parts designers, and is seen as a more stringent and elite certification than ISO 9001, the generic quality system standard. Oxebridge is targeting RaeTech for a Rapid AS9100 Implementation, with the intent to complete the implementation within a few months; typical AS9100 consulting firms often quote companies such as RaeTech implementation programs lasting 9 – 16 months.

RaeTech was founded in 1978 and services such clients as Allied Signal, Honeywell and Ducommun Technologies. The company is a member of the Arizona Tooling and Machining Association, and the National Tooling and Machining Association (NTMA).

Why we report on these topics

Since 2000, Oxebridge has worked to improve ISO and related certification schemes by identifying problems and then proposing solutions. We report on issues affecting standards users because so few other news outlets do. Our belief is that in order to fix the problems in these schemes, we must first understand the nature and breadth of those problems. Our reporting aims to do just that. Elsewhere on the Oxebridge site you will find White Papers and other articles proposing ideas to correct these problems.
