Citing venue capacity, the December 5th “Braindump” by Oxebridge founder Christopher Paris is sold out.  Those still interested in attending the event must contact Oxebridge for a future date.

The event “Implementing ISO 9001:2015 Without Totally Losing Your Mind” presents the first daylong training seminar offered by Oxebridge since it began in 1999. Oxebridge had traditionally not competed in this space, since there were so many existing seminar providers, but elected to launch a seminar program after it was revealed that much of the information coming out of the other seminar producers was, in Paris’ words, “deeply flawed.”

We need to correct the information coming out on ISO 9001, and that includes the information coming from those who market themselves as “authors” of the standard. In some cases, those people had nothing whatsoever to do with the standard, and in other cases the actual authors had little influence, given that their work was widely rejected by the ISO technical committee in Geneva.

Worse, Paris argues, the advice coming from the seminars is incorrect, and likely to lead companies astray. “We broke our self-imposed embargo on seminars to fix their mess.”

Oxebridge is currently planning additional ISO 9001 “Braindump” sessions, given the high response rate, as well as AS9100 aerospace sessions in Florida, California and Arizona.

Paris’ new book Surviving ISO 9001:2015 – What Went So Wrong with the World’s Foremost Quality Management Standard, and How To Implement It Anyway, has been an equally surprise hit, with hundreds of copies sold before the book was even released, and early reviews being overwhelmingly positive. The book gives an inside critique of the origin of ISO 9001, and then provides proven methods on implementing the standard, based on practical experience gained through implementation of the DIS, FDIS and final release version of ISO 9001:2015. The book, which comes with an adult language advisory, can be purchased for immediate download here.

Why we report on these topics

Since 2000, Oxebridge has worked to improve ISO and related certification schemes by identifying problems and then proposing solutions. We report on issues affecting standards users because so few other news outlets do. Our belief is that in order to fix the problems in these schemes, we must first understand the nature and breadth of those problems. Our reporting aims to do just that. Elsewhere on the Oxebridge site you will find White Papers and other articles proposing ideas to correct these problems.
