Winter Haven FL — Since 1999, Oxebridge has offered a revolutionary “Rapid ISO 9001 Implementation Program” which promises to implement ISO 9001 and ready a client for third party audit within 40 work days, or about two months. Despite the 100% success rate of those companies that exercise the 40-day scheduling and planning, only 20% of clients are taking advantage of the option.

Typical reasons for expanding the implementation beyond 40 days include client personnel scheduling, vacations, holidays, invoicing preferences, or a sense that somehow “Rapid” implementation will result in a lesser product.

“The irony,” Oxebridge VP Operations Chris Paris says, “is that the same program is run whether a client utilizes the 40-day plan or not. We do the same work, we just wait for the client to let us proceed in between the various phases.” Oxebridge does not offer any ISO 9001 implementation program other than the Rapid ISO program, even if the client chooses to extend that program to 3 – 6 months.

The average implementation time for ISO 9001 is about 3 to 4 months, as a result.

“We strongly suggest clients take advantage of the 40-day schedule. this gives the company more time to have the certification in place, and reduces overhead impact. Not to mention, it’s just better to have the certification earlier than later, especially if the quality of the resulting program is unaffected by a 40-day implementation.

Oxebridge’s Rapid ISO 9001 Implementation Program does not rely on templates or boilerplate documents, and all but five days of the work is done on-site at the client’s facilities. “Nothing is ‘mailed in’,” Paris emphasizes.

Oxebridge offers a similar Rapid AS9100 Implementation Program, as well as Rapid programs for AS9110, AS9120, ISO 13485 and other standards.

Rapid Upgrades, for example bringing an ISO 9001 system up to AS9100 or ISO 13485, typically run only 5 – 7 days, a tiny fraction of what traditional consultants offer. And upgrade of documentation from ISO 9001:2000 to ISO 9001:2008 takes 1/2 day.

“Speed of delivery of a quality program has been the cornerstone of our business since day one,” Paris says. “Contrary to popular belief, a high quality product can be delivered in record time without sacrificing quality or value.” Oxebridge contracts typically run 1/2 to 1/3 of those of competing consultancies.

Regarding the myth that registrars would not accept a 40-day implementation, Paris corrects the record: “Some registrars indicate they want to see 90 days of records, but this is not a requirement and just a preference. To address this, we front-load the elements of ISO 9001 requiring the most records and build up significant evidence to satisfy the audit completely. Since 1999, not a single client has ever been denied an ISO 9001 certificate on the basis of the 90-day record myth, or on any basis whatsoever.” Oxebridge currently has over 200 clients that have undergone Rapid ISO or AS implementation, and all have passed their audit on the first attempt, using the registrar of their choice.

Why we report on these topics

Since 2000, Oxebridge has worked to improve ISO and related certification schemes by identifying problems and then proposing solutions. We report on issues affecting standards users because so few other news outlets do. Our belief is that in order to fix the problems in these schemes, we must first understand the nature and breadth of those problems. Our reporting aims to do just that. Elsewhere on the Oxebridge site you will find White Papers and other articles proposing ideas to correct these problems.
