If you recall, Oxebridge filed a significant ethics violation against latter-day ISO flack Nigel Croft for gross and multiple violations of ISO’s own procedures and published policies. In short, Croft has (a) used his position in various ISO committees to publish his personal views on ISO projects, making his views appear as official ISO statements and (b) has publicly attacked and defamed critics of his views while (again) invoking his official role in ISO.

ISO has very strict rules on social media use by its committee members and leadership, as well as misrepresenting one’s personal views as official ISO opinions. They will sometimes eject people from committees for violation of those roles, such as was the fate of Croft’s would-be protege Paul Simpson. Simpson held a very short term in TC 176 until he was ejected for aggressively “acting out” on LinkedIn.

Croft has done the exact same thing, and much worse. He had been leaking official ISO documents and backroom details for over a decade, in violation of ISO’s policies on copyright, trademark, and trade secrets. Worse, it was done in writing, under his own name, so there’s no debate about the facts. In Croft’s case, however, ISO is looking the other way.

Meanwhile, ISO recently ejected long-time ISO expert Alex Ezrakhovich for his social media posts which criticized ISO’s support of Russia and the Putin regime. Mind you, unlike Croft, Ezrakhovich didn’t post his comments while invoking any role in ISO, and made it clear these were his personal opinions.

Even though the ISO Technical Management Board acknowledged the complaint against Croft in August of last year, it’s clear they have not pursued it. Croft recently posted some form of attack against me, but later edited it to merely call me “gutter,” and I never saw the original. He’s been tackling with others on LinkedIn, so it’s not just about me, either. ISO has policies against this sort of behavior, but they allow Croft to do whatever he wants.

Worse, Croft has ramped up his latest gaslighting campaign, trying to convince the entire world that ISO 9001 was always about climate change. Remember, Croft said the same thing back in 2015 about risk-based thinking, which was something he and ISO just made up out of thin air. In fact, prior editions of ISO 9001 specifically said they did not intend to address risk management. Croft just full-on lied.

With a new article published by CQI, Croft claims that it is a “common misconception… that climate change considerations are limited to organisations that have chosen to implement an environmental management system, such as ISO 14001, or an energy management system, such as ISO 50001.”

No, it’s not a common misconception. It’s an actual FACT.

I brought receipts: previously, ISO did an entire study to see which of its standards would be affected by the London Declaration, which intended to add climate change to applicable standards. That study found that ISO 9001 was not a standard that needed to be updated. (In fact, there might have been two such studies. I have two documents from that period, and it’s not clear if they are from the same study, or two different ones. But neither listed ISO 9001 as a standard needing updating for climate change.)

However, ISO Secretary-General Sergio Mujica overruled ISO’s own study (studies?) and declared that, no, all management system standards would be updated to include climate change, through a radical “amendment” process that circumvented all voting by ISO members. And so ISO 9001 was updated as a result.

Once again, Croft is using his position within ISO to openly lie to everyone on the planet.

But ISO will not hold him to its ethics policies, because Croft is being a dutiful lapdog to the sweaty Chileno would-be autocrat, Mujica, who is trying to run ISO as a for-profit business, while positioning himself for the role of UN Secretary-General.

Mujica was corrupt when he led the Chilean customs ministry, and he’s worse now that he’s heading up ISO. But ISO is supralegal and accountable to no one, so he — and his buddies, like Croft — are untouchable.
