David Gilbert at Strategic Safety Consultants UK sent this along via LinkedIn, and the survey is interesting. It’s seeking to gather some sense of what people know about Risk-Based Thinking as it’s defined in ISO 9001:2015. I recommend taking the survey, it’s fast and does not require entering any personal information.

I am doing research with the University of Aberdeen and kindly request your assistance to help my research benefit everyone that is using ISO 9001.

Below is a brief outline of my study and I hope that you can help me by sharing the below link with your followers so that they can participate.

As you are probably aware a new version of ISO 9001:2015 has recently been released with new terms, such as; “risk-based thinking”, “leadership and commitment”, and “performance-based requirements”. People, be it customers or staff within organisations, will understand this terminology in different ways which could lead to deviations from the standard.

This survey, which takes about 5 to 10 minutes, aims to understand the different ways in which terminology is interpreted and assess the impacts of ISO 9001:2015 in the quality management systems. By participating in this survey you will allow for a wider understanding of these terms to be analysed and shared. This will help improve industry’s preparedness for ISO 9001:2015.

I thank you for your help, and please let me know if you have any questions.

Kind Regards David Gilbert

Why we report on these topics

Since 2000, Oxebridge has worked to improve ISO and related certification schemes by identifying problems and then proposing solutions. We report on issues affecting standards users because so few other news outlets do. Our belief is that in order to fix the problems in these schemes, we must first understand the nature and breadth of those problems. Our reporting aims to do just that. Elsewhere on the Oxebridge site you will find White Papers and other articles proposing ideas to correct these problems.
