I am preparing a large piece on the unaccredited registrars, but this one couldn’t wait. A Lead Auditor with QualityMasters, an unaccredited certificate mill out of the Netherlands, has been making quite a fuss at LinkedIn whenever questions are asked about his company. It’s reaching new levels of crazy.

Mike Kuklewski has resisted all possible attempts to get him “on the record” in defense of his employer, QualityMasters. He successfully appealed to have an entire thread on the debate over unaccredited certifications deleted. He has posted insults, and then deleted his own posts when things turned sour. He has had strings of comments deleted by the moderator because they bordered on libel.

But now Mr. Kuklewski’s reduced to positioning himself as none other than Jesus, or at least some put-upon Muslims (it’s not clear) by invoking the metaphor of a religious war being waged against QualityMasters.

After having the discussion on unaccredited CB’s deleted, Mike posted his own discussion on the merits of rapid ISO 9001 implementation. Without mentioning Oxebridge he nevertheless attacked the “40-day program”; nevertheless, I’ve gone on to explain how the program works, why it works, etc. During that discussion I once again invited him to start a conversation on unaccredited registrars. Here was his reply:

At least now you are being clear. Thank you for the invitation for another thread. That of course would not be a discussion, but just another step in your self-proclaimed crusade against unaccredited CB’s. And as I do not represent all the unaccredited CB’s in the world, and only one which is in the process but already nailed to the cross by you, it would be a rather lopsided affair. To refer to a statement of yours earlier about kids and drivers licences, unaccredited CB’s have a right to make the miles before they become accredited. Their status does not make them bad. After all, before you BECOME accredited, you are UNaccredited.

So by merely asking an unaccredited registrar their opinion on accreditation, this is a “crusade” akin to being “nailed to the cross.” You can view the whole mess here, but be aware that Mike’s posts are likely to disappear, either from moderation or self-editing.

(FYI: according to available records, QualityMasters has been issuing certificates since at least 2007, with some evidence that they may go as far back as 2004. I am researching whether QualityMasters is, in fact, in the process of accreditation, but so far there is no evidence of that.)

Of course insensitive religious metaphor is not purely the domain of unaccredited registrars.  Zachary Pivarnik, a manager at the accredited certification body SGS, characterized a formal complaint sent to his company as an “inquisition.”

No, Mike, I guess you are right. Accreditation status does not make a CB “bad.” But I’m thinking religious slurs might.

As I always say, you can’t make this stuff up.
