Ft. Wayne IN — Aerospace precision machine shop CNC Industries, Inc. is undergoing a Rapid AS9100 Upgrade Program with Oxebridge Quality Resources. The company is currently certified to ISO 9001:2000 by SGS. Oxebridge’s Rapid Upgrade Program takes an existing, certified system and implements both AS9100 Rev B and Rev C with only ten days of work.

Accredited registrars like SGS are currently prohibited from auditing to AS9100 Revision C, as they await the release of related registrar rules from the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG), so Oxebridge has implemented both AS9100 B and C in order to future-proof the company, thereby reducing costs to CNC Industries.

Oxebridge has completed its AS9100 implementation, but third-party certification to the aerospace quality system standard is not expected until after CNC Industries undergoes its next ISO 9001 surveillance audit in March 2010, which will bring the company’s certification in line with the latest ISO 9001:2008 standard. AS9100 certification is expected to be scheduled shortly thereafter.

CNC Industries machines precision and complex parts for commercial and aerospace applications, and is an accredited INC 5000 company for fastest growth. Its customers include BAE Aerospace, Raytheon, General Electric, ITT and Ingersoll Rand. For more on CNC Industries, visit www.cncind.com.

Why we report on these topics

Since 2000, Oxebridge has worked to improve ISO and related certification schemes by identifying problems and then proposing solutions. We report on issues affecting standards users because so few other news outlets do. Our belief is that in order to fix the problems in these schemes, we must first understand the nature and breadth of those problems. Our reporting aims to do just that. Elsewhere on the Oxebridge site you will find White Papers and other articles proposing ideas to correct these problems.
