Raleigh NC — The Accreditation Council for Healthcare (ACHC) has released updated standards for CMS accreditation for durable medical equipment (DME) providers, medical supply providers and other organizations subject to Medicare accreditation. ACHC updates its standards periodically, and accredited organizations must then update their management systems to comply with the revised standards.
According to the official ACHC alert:
The annual update to the ACHC Standards for Accreditation is now available. ACHC aims to provide organizations with the most up to date and comprehensive set of standards. Each year ACHC compiles feedback from accredited organizations, surveyors and industry consultants in regard to the ACHC Standards for Accreditation. With this information ACHC has modified some wording, consolidated standards and clarified interpretations. The main intent of most standards has not changed.
