The IAQG has published an outline of its coming aerospace standards, including both revised editions of current standards, and standards covering entirely new topics, such as FOD and aerospace PPAP.
The AS91xx series will include updates to each of the following:
- AS9100: QMS – Requirements for Aviation, Space and Defense Organizations
- AS9110: QMS – Requirements for Aviation Maintenance Organizations
- AS9115: QMS – Requirements for Aviation, Space and Defense Organizations – Deliverable Software
- AS9120: QMS – Requirements for Aviation, Space and Defense Distributors
Each of these will be updated to include new requirements related to some key concepts, including product safety, human factors, and counterfeit part control. The standards will merge new ISO 9001:2015 requirements for “risk based thinking” by expanding current AS91xx requirements for “risk management” so that they “permeate the entire management system.”
The AS91xx series is targeted for a publication date of April 2016.
Other standards under various states of development or release by IAQG include:
- AS9102 First Article Inspection Requirements
- AS9104/2 Requirements for Oversight of Aerospace Quality Management System Registration/Certification Programs
- AS9104/3 Requirements for Aerospace Auditor Competency and Training Courses
