India heard that countries like Korea, UAE, Qatar and Pakistan are leading the world in ISO-related scams and said, “hold my beer.” Now, an Indian certificate mill is offering ISO certifications with only a 1-day wait. No audit, just send them your company’s articles of incorporation and deposit some money in their bank account, and Easy Go Certifications will issue you an entirely fake certificate a day later.
The certificates they sell? ISO 9001, of course, but also ISO 13485 for medical device manufacturers and — laughably — ISO 37001 for anti-bribery systems. So you have to engage in what sure looks like bribery to get a fake anti-bribery certificate. Got it?
Their paid Google ad claims they can do all these ISO certs on just one day. The website then reveals just how you get the cert by mail.
The Indian government could do something about these scams, of course, but they are too busy being a corrupt shit-pile themselves, and are happy to let entire swaths of their own population scam each other to the point that medical devices are sold under fake certificates. With a population of 1.43 billion, India is now the most populous country in the world, yet it is also the fifth most impoverished. China, meanwhile, has nearly the same population and lifted a bulk of its country out of poverty in just a decade.
The Modi government is happy to keep letting Indians die, though, because (a) it helps solve that population problem and (b) government officials make money from their corruption, so why change?
And India’s national accreditation body, NABCB? Absent as usual.
The solution is to criminalize certificate mills in India and then prosecute the offenders, slapping them with jail time if they don’t comply. But Modi’s government is too busy exerting energy creating massive inflation and ignoring endless other scandals.
India also suffers from self-inflicted colonization disorder, still treating itself as a subservient player in a game run by white overlords. They never quite emerged from their independence struggle as a fully-formed country, and the national culture that arose is highly dependent on British rules, laws, and — as a result — British-style corruption. India needs to reclaim its culture, nationalize it, reject the worst tendencies of Britain and the West, and make its own way in the world. Its leaders seem incapable of such bold steps, so the rest of the world is left to suffer as Indian scammer culture proliferates across the planet.
