US TAG to TC 176 Full Member List Published

The following table shows the members of the US Technical Advisory Group to ISO TC 176, those responsible within the US for drafting the new ISO 9001:2015 standard. Personal contact information has been removed, and the list only shows each member’s name and employer.The list is suspected to be up to date only as of September 2015, and a handful of new, unidentified members have since been added who do not appear on this list.

Roles are broken down by category, per directives, but have been corrected after it was discovered that 21% of consultants and 94% of registrars had been erroneously listed in some other role. Where some information was missing, this was updated using LinkedIn and other public information; for some consultants without employers listed, their stakeholder category was determined by referencing public marketing of their consulting services, even if the consulting firm’s name was not immediately known.

Oxebridge contacted the US TAG leadership back in August 2015, alerting it that it intended on publishing the list, giving the TAG time to clearly communicate any reasons the information should not be published, and to discuss with their legal counsel; the TAG Administrator did not reply to either emails or phone calls on the matter.

Oxebridge provides this information on the basis of it having a pressing and direct public interest. The members are official representatives of the United States, and are working to craft official US standards which impact on the entire economy of the nation, and have a direct impact on US domestic and foreign trade. The ISO 9001 certification industry is estimated to be as high as $2B annually within the United States, much of that eventually paid by taxpayers through government contracts which mandate ISO 9001. Finally, directives issued by ISO, ANSI and the World Trade Organization, as well as US Federal law, require that voluntary standards be developed in an open and transparent manner. Oxebridge believes that ensuring this requires the membership of the US TAG 176 to be known, and that attempts to conceal membership identity and stakeholder influence are not only in violation of those principles, but may violate US Federal law.
