OPG Certification Services LLC, a US-based certification body, has achieved accreditation after an ISO 17021-1 implementation by Oxebridge Quality Resources. The achievement marks the first ISO 27001 certification body to become accredited after using Oxebridge’s implementation services.
Alongside ISO 27001, OPG provides certification to ISO 9001 and ISO 20000-1 for IT and technology companies within the US and Canada. The certification body was awarded accreditation by the International Accreditation Service (IAS).
OPG is one of the only US-based certification bodies to offer both ISO 27001 and 20000-1 certification and can perform an integrated management system audit to assess both standards during the same assessment. Typically, clients seeking certification to both standards must hire two separate CBs or undergo separate audits by the same CB.
Oxebridge launched its ISO 17021 and ISO 17011 implementation services for certification bodies and accreditation bodies in 2020. As a result, Oxebridge is one of only a tiny handful of consulting companies that can provide implementation of standards for CBs and ABs, and one of only two in the entire United States. For OPG, Oxebridge went beyond the requirements of ISO 17021 and IAF, and implemented enhanced systems for conflict of interest identification and risk mitigation, complaints and appeals handling, and performance of certification audits. In addition, Oxebridge and OPG worked to develop a set of official “Evidence Requirements” that OPG provides to clients to demonstrate precisely what OPG auditors will expect to see during its assessments.
These enhancements ensure that Oxebridge client certification bodies far exceed the requirements of ISO and IAF, and do so in a manner that works to improve end-user trust in the certifications issued.
