The Nepal Accreditation Forum (NAF) has published a call for the empanelment of a set of experts in order to support Nepal’s growing quality infrastructure.

The NAF document, titled NAF Empanelment Notice and Assessor Competence Handbook: A Strategic Call for Quality Infrastructure Experts, requests experts submit their credentials for consideration as Lead Assessors, Technical Assessors, and Technical Experts. The effort will help strengthen that nation’s overall quality assessment and credentialing efforts.

According to the publication:

NAF is preparing for an expanded scope of Multilateral Recognition Arrangements (MRA) with the Asia Pacific Accreditation
Cooperation (APAC) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC). This expansion necessitates a robust pool of assessors capable of operating not just at a national level, but at a standard that withstands international peer evaluation. The professionals selected through this process will be the guardians of Nepal’s technical reputation. They will be tasked with the grave responsibility of distinguishing between compliant and non-compliant entities, a distinction that directly impacts the safety

The NAF was recently accepted into the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) with some assistance from Oxebridge. The body intends to exceed the IAF / GACI requirements and provide trust-based accreditation to certification bodies.

Why we report on these topics

Since 2000, Oxebridge has worked to improve ISO and related certification schemes by identifying problems and then proposing solutions. We report on issues affecting standards users because so few other news outlets do. Our belief is that in order to fix the problems in these schemes, we must first understand the nature and breadth of those problems. Our reporting aims to do just that. Elsewhere on the Oxebridge site you will find White Papers and other articles proposing ideas to correct these problems.
