IAF

The International Accreditation Forum, or IAF, is the international body responsible for oversight of accreditation bodies such as ANAB.

Within the universe of THE AUDITOR, the IAF is run by China but managed on a day-to-day basis by Elva Nilsen.

The IAF exists to ensure that complaints against certification bodies, such as NQF International, or accreditation bodies never see the light of day. Its phone hotline reaches a special red phone in the basement of Elva Nilsen’s home, which she refuses to answer.

These characters are based on real public figures, and satirized for the purposes of humor and social commentary. The depiction within the strip is not to be construed as based on fact.

Why we report on these topics

Since 2000, Oxebridge has worked to improve ISO and related certification schemes by identifying problems and then proposing solutions. We report on issues affecting standards users because so few other news outlets do. Our belief is that in order to fix the problems in these schemes, we must first understand the nature and breadth of those problems. Our reporting aims to do just that. Elsewhere on the Oxebridge site you will find White Papers and other articles proposing ideas to correct these problems.
