ASQ Cultists

The ASQ cultists are members of the American Society for Quality (ASQ). They appear when summoned, typically after someone says the name “ASQ” three times in a row. They wear blue robes emblazoned with the ASQ logo, and float above the air, powered by their sense of self-righteousness.

ASQ Cultists sometimes use quotes from Cenobites from the Hellraiser movie series in order to intimidate their victims. Otherwise, they appear to be generally bland, vacuous bureaucrats. They are egregious racists, seeking a Whites-only world, but one based on Pareto charts and Six Sigma. They resist being called a cult in public, but admit privately that they are one. Their recruiting organization is known internally as the Qu Qlux Qlan, or “Q3.” They are currently embroiled in a legal fight over the name “Qanon,” which they claim infringes on their intellectual property.

They exist in an awkward relationship with CQI Cultists, who they tolerate, but would rather see exterminated.

Alex Mendes accidentally summoned Chinese Quality Cultists, revealing that both ASQ and CQI eventually report to more powerful gods in China.

Why we report on these topics

Since 2000, Oxebridge has worked to improve ISO and related certification schemes by identifying problems and then proposing solutions. We report on issues affecting standards users because so few other news outlets do. Our belief is that in order to fix the problems in these schemes, we must first understand the nature and breadth of those problems. Our reporting aims to do just that. Elsewhere on the Oxebridge site you will find White Papers and other articles proposing ideas to correct these problems.
