Vince Desmond

Vince Desmond is the head of the CQI and its auditor certification body, IRCA.

In THE AUDITOR universe, Desmond suffers from a literal Napoleon Complex, and wears his clothes in the fashion of the former French emperor. Obsessed with getting respect from everyone around him, he often flies into childish temper tantrums demanding people “improve their tone” when addressing him. He sometimes gets so angry, he bursts into flames, leaving him just a pile of human ash and bones.

Desmond claims not to be a racist, but nobody believes it. He has admitted to hiring “scary black men” to re-enact 19th-century American minstrel shows.

He rules over a host of CQI Cultists, but eventually answers to a group of shadowy Chinese Quality Cultists.

This character is based on a real public figure, and satirized for the purposes of humor and social commentary. The depiction within the strip is not to be construed as based on fact.

Why we report on these topics

Since 2000, Oxebridge has worked to improve ISO and related certification schemes by identifying problems and then proposing solutions. We report on issues affecting standards users because so few other news outlets do. Our belief is that in order to fix the problems in these schemes, we must first understand the nature and breadth of those problems. Our reporting aims to do just that. Elsewhere on the Oxebridge site you will find White Papers and other articles proposing ideas to correct these problems.
