{"id":4690,"date":"2015-02-03T12:42:21","date_gmt":"2015-02-03T17:42:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.oxebridge.com\/emma\/?p=4690"},"modified":"2015-02-03T12:42:21","modified_gmt":"2015-02-03T17:42:21","slug":"iaf-adopts-accreditation-standard-one-year-before-its-actually-released","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oxebridge.com\/emma\/iaf-adopts-accreditation-standard-one-year-before-its-actually-released\/","title":{"rendered":"IAF Adopts Accreditation Standard One Year Before It&#8217;s Actually Released"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to official documents obtained by Oxebridge, the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) issued a formal resolution endorsing\u00a0<em>ISO 17021-1:2015: Conformity\u00a0Assessment \u2013 Requirements for Bodies Providing Audit and Certification of\u00a0Management System<\/em>s a year before the standard is set to be published, and based only on an unratified, draft version of the standard.<\/p>\n<p>In October 2014, at\u00a0its 28th\u00a0General Assembly meeting\u00a0in Vancouver, the IAF issued Resolution 2014-12, announcing:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The General Assembly, acting on the recommendation of\u00a0the Technical Committee, resolved to endorse ISO\/IEC 17021-1:2015, as a\u00a0normative document. The General Assembly further agreed that the transition period\u00a0for the implementation of ISO\/IEC 17021-1:2015 will be two years from the date of<br \/>\npublication.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.iso.org\/iso\/home\/store\/catalogue_ics\/catalogue_detail_ics.htm?csnumber=61651\">ISO 17021-1<\/a> is currently in draft international stage (DIS) and not expected to be published until late 2015. The standard, which Oxebridge has learned guts requirements for certification bodies to have an independent impartiality committee or to maintain a public registry of their certified clients, is receiving early criticism for its overwhelming bias in favor of\u00a0CBs, and its lack of consideration for ISO 9001 end user organizations. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oxebridge.com\/emma\/casco-iso-certification-bodies-write-their-own-rules\/\">Previous Oxebridge reporting <\/a>revealed that the committee responsible for development of ISO 17021 &#8212; CASCO &#8212; is comprised of current or former CB and Accreditation Body representatives, and lacks any representation from ISO 9001 end users or CB customers.
