Deepak Jain, the CEO of AINet, has paid<\/a> $1 million in restitution and $500,000 in monetary penalties after he was indicted in 2024 on six counts of fraud and one count of making false statements.<\/p>\n

Department of Justice investigators alleged that Jain falsified the TIA-942 certification status<\/a> of its servers, claiming an auditing firm known as Uptime Council had audited the services and granted them a Tier IV certification level. The DoJ found that Jain created the Uptime Council company himself and worked to produce the fake server certifications.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Oxebridge discovered<\/a> that Jain bought fake certificates for ISO 9001 (for quality management), ISO 20000 (for IT service management), ISO 27001 (for information security management), ISO 14001 (for environmental management), and ISO 22237 (for server certification). Those certificates were all issued by the fake certificate mill “Inspection Body” out of Egypt.<\/p>\n

After Oxebridge’s reporting, Jain deleted those certificates and purchased new fake certificates<\/a> issued by another Egyptian certificate mill, OSS Middle East. OSS issued these within 48 hours, making it physically impossible that any actual audits were conducted. These certificates bore the official IAF logo and were entered into the IAF CertSearch database.<\/p>\n

After that reporting, Jain once again purchased more fake certificates<\/a>, this time from the Indian mill “Americo,” run by Sumit Kale<\/a>. Those were also entered into CertSearch and bore the IAF logo. As of 6 August 2026, those certificates still appear in CertSearch.<\/p>\n

According to the official DoJ Investigative Summary<\/a>, in addition to the $1.5M payout, Jain agreed to serve 150 hours of community service to avoid prison.<\/p>\n
