CUBA, the third novel in my Dr. Cuba series. The novels are a mix of the pulp detective and horror genres, though Book III takes on a more sci-fi tone.

It is 1950, and Inspector Heiner Thumann — and the world — believe the Dr. Cuba threat is real. Behind the scenes, however, a series of global plots suggests this may not be the case, and that Dr. Cuba’s organization has not only obtained the secrets to make atomic weapons, but it is also distributing them to foment a world war. Inspector Thumann and his assistant Ximena Orellana Torres must join together with an unusual band of allies, including a marine biologist, an atomic weapons beat cop, and an aging and possibly insane mystic, to hunt down the truth.

This book is much larger than the others. Whereas Books I and II ran about 75,000 words each, this latest novel comes in at over 120,000. Getting this done now means that I wrote three whole novels in just over one year; even I am surprised at that!

The manuscript has now been handed off to my editor, Parisa Zolfaghari, a former editor with Simon & Schuster, who edited my last novel. Editing will take a few months. At the same time, I have to negotiate the rights to use some established characters from other media properties, which may also delay final publication.

As I have done previously, those signed up for the Dr. Cuba “Cult of Crime” list will get the pre-release version, called The Behemoth Edition. That will be the unedited, rough manuscript. The final edition may be significantly different. For the first book, DR. CUBA, early subscribers received the “Secret Syndicate Edition,” and the “Birthmass Edition” of the second book, THE THREE HEADS OF DR. CUBA.

Now, to celebrate this latest milestone, I will be sending all THREE books in electronic format (PDF and EPUB) to anyone who signs up for the list at www.drcuba.world. I urge you to sign up and only ask you to leave a review on Amazon!

That list is only used to keep readers up to date on progress with the novels, and to occasionally send bonus content like artwork, chapter snippets, news, etc.

Be aware, though, that none of this is automated (by design). I manually send out the books and check the subscription list only weekly. So it may be a while before you receive the books, depending on when you sign up.

Again, PLEASE LEAVE A REVIEW ON AMAZON. That’s the only way that we can eventually get wider distribution and media deals for the Dr. Cuba franchise.

If you prefer paperback editions, you must buy those directly from Amazon. The links for each can be found on the Dr. Cuba website.

Remember, if you can’t stand my work in ISO, the more copies of Dr. Cuba you buy will hasten my retirement from the profession. So be sure to spread this news to everyone, even my enemies.

THE BLASPHEMIES OF DR.
