Meet racist Brazilian ISO consultant Rog\u00e9rio Campos Meira<\/a>, who calls himself “Dr. Standard\u00ae<\/em>” (yes, with the trademark symbol, a sure sign of narcissism). Meira thought it would be cool to do a webinar livestream<\/a> with some other racist prick named Dave Campos — who I presume is his racist son — about ISO standards as they relate to Brazil’s new NR-1 regulation. Stick with me, because this gets weird fast.<\/p>\n

NR-1 is a requires Brazilian companies to include “psychosocial risks<\/em>” in their Occupational Health and Safety management processes. These regulation requires “management of mental health risks such as stress, burnout, and harassment<\/em>.”<\/p>\n

So, to teach you how to use ISO 45001 and 45003 to manage things like harassment, Meira thought it would be a good idea to dress up as a Black Jamaican, complete with party-store Rastafarian dreadlocks. Because you don’t believe me, here’s the screenshot:<\/p>\n

Because nothing says you honor the mental health of workers by mocking their race.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Campos, of course, is a supporter and promoter of the IAF<\/a>, and — you knew this was coming — an ASQ member<\/a>:<\/p>\n

I won’t get started again on ASQ’s addiction to racists, white supremacists, and domestic terrorists, but you can read about it here<\/a> and here<\/a> and here<\/a> and here<\/a>. Will they uphold their Code of Ethics and boot Campos? Of course not, ASQ is hemorrhaging members and needs every Klansmen then can get!<\/p>\n

His webinar thing was so bizarre, so just so batshit crazy, I am not even sure what is going on. Apparently, to sell his idea, Campos dressed up in his “pale blackface” costume and pretended to be a character named “L\u00f4rdi Malta<\/em>” of some fictional third-world country. Then, his pal\/son Dave thought it would be cool to let him actually do it live, record it, and republish it on LinkedIn.<\/p>\n

Now, I speak Spanish and don’t speak Portuguese, even though Portuguese is just speaking Spanish with a sock stuffed in your mouth. So maybe they are engaging in a careful, thoughtful dissection of racist tropes in defense of workplace mental health, and ironically using a racist trope to do so.<\/p>\n

I doubt it.<\/p>\n

UPDATE<\/span> 7 March 2026.<\/strong> As predicted, Campos replied on LinkedIn<\/a> and, in typical racist style, made it worse<\/strong><\/em>. Have a look:<\/p>\n

This is simply the characterization of a person who leads a fictional company, located in a hypothetical municipality, which we use in the simulations of our Lead Auditor Training Courses. Absolutely no intention to offend anyone. My sincerest apologies if anyone felt offended in any way, Christopher Paris. There was nothing, and there is nothing, in terms of mockery.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

That’s what is called a non-apology apology. I know this because everyone<\/strong> <\/em>knows it, to the point that it even has its own page on Wikipedia:<\/p>\n

By that logic, I can shave my beard, put on makeup so I look like an undead ghoul, call myself “Roger Campo Mierda<\/em>“, and spew racist shit with a Brazilian accent, and then, if Campos is offended, tell him I didn’t mean to offend him. But to be honest, if I went through all that work, I would have done so to absolutely offend him<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, let’s get in our TARDIS and look back at when that South African ISO expert made racist jokes about Mexicans<\/a> or when CQI training partner Shaun Sayers said — out loud — that Indians are cheap<\/a>,\u00a0 or when CQI\/IRCA head Vincent Desmond refused to denounce racism<\/a> on the basis of the fact he didn’t like the “tone<\/em>” of the question.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
