{"id":290,"date":"2009-09-04T09:48:28","date_gmt":"2009-09-04T13:48:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.oxebridge.com\/emma\/?p=290"},"modified":"2009-09-04T09:48:28","modified_gmt":"2009-09-04T13:48:28","slug":"india-confirms-us-iso-9001-registrar-misrepresents-accreditation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oxebridge.com\/emma\/india-confirms-us-iso-9001-registrar-misrepresents-accreditation\/","title":{"rendered":"India Confirms: US ISO 9001 Registrar &#8220;Misrepresents&#8221; Accreditation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Orlando FL &#8212; In an email to Oxebridge as a follow up to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oxebridge.com\/emma\/?p=286\" target=\"_self\">its reporting<\/a> on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.qsiamerica.com\/aboutqsi.html\" target=\"_blank\">QSI Auditing and Certifications LLC<\/a>, the Quality Council of India (QCI) confirmed that QSI is &#8220;misrepresenting&#8221; its accreditation by the Indian accreditation body <a href=\"http:\/\/www.qcin.org\/nabcb\/\" target=\"_blank\">NABCB<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Oxebridge reported that QSI was continuing to market itself as accredited by the US accreditation body ANAB, despite having had its accreditation <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sustainablesuccessalert.com\/index.php?view=article&amp;catid=3%3Anewsflash&amp;id=55%3Abig-sweep-certification-industry-cleans-house-in-global-purge-&amp;tmpl=component&amp;print=1&amp;page=&amp;option=com_content&amp;Itemid=56\" target=\"_blank\">stripped <\/a>by ANAB in 2008. In that report, Oxebridge also discovered that QSI was claiming its US company was accredited by NABCB. Official records only show QSI&#8217;s Indian company &#8212; a separate legal entity &#8212; held NABCB accreditation.<\/p>\n<p>QSI operates its US activities out of Orlando, Florida.<\/p>\n<p>Writing for NABCB, which is managed by the Quality Council of India, Anil Jauhri confirmed, <em>&#8220;This is a misrepresentation of NABCB accreditation. As a matter of policy we do not accredit [registrars] who are not legal entities in India &#8211; so even if QSI USA were to ask for our accreditation, it would not be granted.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>ANAB has confirmed to Oxebridge that it is looking into the matter separately.<\/p>\n<p>Misrepresentation of accreditation violates accreditation rules for ISO 9001 registrars, and often violates international trademark and copyright laws as well, since the use of accreditation body logos is tightly controlled.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Orlando FL &#8212; In an email to Oxebridge as a follow up to its reporting on QSI Auditing and Certifications LLC, the Quality Council of India (QCI) confirmed that QSI is &#8220;misrepresenting&#8221; its accreditation by the Indian accreditation body NABCB.
