Quick update for SAI Global clients. It seems their accreditation for ISO 9001 and some other standards was restored, but not<\/strong><\/em> for AS9100. But it’s murky, and I’m not entirely clear on it.<\/p>\n

Why? Because as usual, the ANAB website is a disaster. If you search for SAI under the simple registrar search, their listing pops up and shows they are now marked as “Accredited,” but AS9100\/AS9110\/AS9120 are not listed. The link provided on that page takes us to a certificate which still lists them as suspended for those three aerospace scopes, but not for all the others.<\/p>\n

But if you search the ANAB website for “suspended” registrars, SAI still comes up and the listing there shows them as “Suspended.” That also links to the same certificate, but the page itself contradicts the certificate, reading, “As of 06 February 2018, SAI Global’s ANAB accreditation has been suspended. The suspension includes the programs ISO 9001, ISO 14001, AS9100, AS9110, AS9120, e-Stewards, RC14001 and TL 9000.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Both<\/strong><\/em> of those screenshots came from a search early this morning, on April 6th.<\/p>\n

IAQG OASIS does<\/strong><\/em> show SAI still suspended for AS9100, AS9110 and AS9120, though. They don’t list information about the other standards.<\/p>\n

So who the heck knows at this point? SAI’s employees are giving all sorts of contradictory answers, too, so that’s not much help. Ultimately they are trying to stave off a mad defection by their clients, so will say whatever they have to. You would think SAI would put something on their so-called “News” page<\/a> to keep clients informed, but that page is the usual junkpile of self-congratulatory press releases and spinjobs.<\/p>\n

We should<\/strong><\/em> be able to rely on the records of the Accreditation Body, since they only reason these ABs exist is to provide a means of confirming the accreditation of a given CB, but ANAB can’t even get that right. I’m not sure if the same consultant that built the ANAB database is the one overseeing the IAF’s planned “universal” certificate database project, but it so, that’s scary. It’s also likely, unfortunately.<\/p>\n
