Given the additional complexities of the new AS9100 D standard, this adds\u00a0tremendous uncertainty and risk to those companies seeking to maintain their AS9100 certification without a lapse. <span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;\">Companies that do not update by September 2018 will lose their certification<\/span>, thus having to undergo an entirely new audit as if they were a first-time applicant.<\/p>\n<p>Worse, the certification bodies are only beginning to be accredited to offer auditing services to AS9100 as of March 2017.
